Devils head coach Lindy Ruff was asked a flurry of personnel-related questions on Saturday after practice surrounding some key players on the club.
Ruff was positive in his update on Nico Hischier, who's been out since before camp began with a leg injury.
"No setback at all. Progressing. Feeling better every day. As soon as a player knows he can get through hard workouts, he can join the team," Ruff noted.
"He's skated on his own a couple times," he added.
Goaltender Mackenzie Blackwood has been out as a result of COVID-19 protocol since before Thursday's game against the Islanders. There is no timetable as of right now on Blackwood's return.
