It was a busy week at RWJBarnabas Health Hockey House and the Devils Prudential Center locker room. There were 33 players at the arena hoping to leave impressions on the Devils management and staff, showcasing their talents and their growth from years prior.

The Devils Development Camp was a busy week for players, coaches and staff alike and in this Notebook, you'll be able to catch up on any content you may have missed!

Feature Stories:

While Development Camp is a great time to see what the on-ice future could be like for the Devils, it's also an opportunity to get to know the players in the system. Over the course of camp, we got to know a little more about some of the team's big prospects:

Stillman's Junior career came to a close this past season on a run to the Memorial Cup with the Peterborough Petes. The next step for Stillman, 20, will be turning pro as he heads into September's Devils Rookie and Training Camp.

Inside the Article:

"Hopefully, I can play in New Jersey as fast as possible," Stillman said. "But if I end up in Utica it's really exciting. It's a big step for me hockey-wise and life-wise. First time being away from home, being away from an adult family. I'm really looking forward to it."

Defenseman Seamus Casey spent his Freshman season at Michigan alongside two other Devils draft picks, Luke Hughes and Ethan Edwards. Casey is the latest Wolverine to begin turning heads at Devils Development Camp.

Inside the Article:

"I like to add a lot of offense when I can. But defense is my game. I can't say offensive defenseman because I'm a defenseman first. So, I like to say two-way defenseman. I like to play as much offense as I can. When I can get the puck on my stick and make a play I like to."

Topias Vilen is perhaps a lesser-known defensive prospect but this Development Camp we got to know much more about Vilen, who is expected to make the full-time jump to North America next season. After playing in Liiga and earning his way from a sixth to a top pairing defenseman these last two years, the Devils organization is high on this player who hopes, as a sixth-round pick, can be the steal of his draft year.

Inside the Article:

"My goal is to be my best in training camp and hopefully make the roster. Take my spot on the roster."

While visiting Newark Beth Israel Medical Center as part of the Devils Development camp community outreach, Seamus Casey recalled the significance that the hospital holds to him and his family, particularly his brother Ben who was as patient at the hospital as a child.

Inside the Article:

"They thought he had leukemia, we were freaking out," Steven Casey, Ben and Seamus' father, shared about his eldest son. "His numbers were plummeting. Whatever they were supposed to do, they were going down, down, down and we were freaking out."

"(Ben) touched the Stanley Cup and the next test he had was going the other way," Stephen shared.
