The New Jersey Devils today announced changes within their Hockey Operations Department and Scouting Staff which is a restructuring of titles to correctly align with those individual's roles and responsibilities. The announcement was made by Devils' Executive Vice President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.

Scott Clemmensen has been appointed as the club's Director, Goaltending Development. Clemmensen will now oversee all goaltending development alongside Executive Vice President/Advisor, Hockey Operations, Martin Brodeur. Clemmensen will work with Binghamton goaltending coach, Brian Eklund and New Jersey goaltending coach, Dave Rogalski, to monitor the organization's current and potential future goaltenders. Additionally, he will work with our current draft picks and prospects, while working with our pro and amateur scouting staffs on identifying talent. Clemmensen saw action in 191 career NHL games with New Jersey, Toronto, and Florida, posting a 73-59-24 mark with seven shutouts and a 2.79 goals-against average. His Devils' totals showed 68 games played, with a record of 32-19-6, four shutouts and a 2.60 GAA. After finishing his career in 2015, Clemmensen moved into a developmental role with the organization, serving as goaltending development coach.
Kate Madigan has been named Executive Director, Hockey Management/Operations. Madigan previously served as Assistant, Player Information/Video from 2017-19 before becoming Director of Pro Scouting Operations last season. Kate steps into a newly created role that is responsible for managing hockey operations projects for the General Manager, which includes reports on players, free agency, trades, analytics, budget and coordinating hockey operations personnel. Previously, Madigan oversaw the scheduling and reports for the pro scouting staff, while working with the coaches, management and video staff throughout the year. Most recently, she orchestrated the logistics regarding the 2020 NHL Draft and the Devils Draft Command Center in the Prudential Center including communicating with building operations, information technology, medical staffs, scouts, management, media relations and the NHL.
Jim Mill previously served as an Amateur and Pro Scout with New Jersey from 2015 through 2019, before becoming the Head of College Scouting last season. Mill will now oversee the Devils pro scouting staff which includes Al Coates, Peter Horachek, Claude Noel, Andre Savard, Brian Strait and Nick Vitucci. He will be responsible for all reporting, scheduling and assignments of the staff while compiling information for Fitzgerald and Assistant General Manager Dan MacKinnon. Prior to New Jersey, Mill served as the assistant general manager with the Minnesota Wild from 2009-15. He has also served in hockey management roles for the American Hockey League including as Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations before his time with the Wild.
