Devils center Blake Coleman to launch "Pickles Pals" program

Newark, NJ - New Jersey Devils center Blake Coleman has officially launched his new community platform, Pickles Pals, that will support the Salvation Army Boys and Girls Club of Newark Ironbound (BGCN) for the betterment of Newark's youth. The mission of Pickles Pals is to inspire young people to read and embrace education while providing a fun learning environment. Pickles Pals seeks to give back to the community by developing academic programs and securing necessary supplies with the purpose of providing kids of BGCN with resources needed to achieve their academic goals.

Pickles Pals also includes hosting members of the BGCN with tickets to select Devils home games and post-game meet and greets with Blake Coleman himself. The first game is on Sunday, December 23 when the Devils take on the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Coleman's association with pickles came to light in October of last season when Coleman was caught sipping pickle juice in the penalty box during a game against the Colorado Avalanche to combat cramping. Coleman's interesting/shocking drink of choice on gamedays attracted so much attention, he saw this as an opportunity to have a powerful positive influence and wanted to give back to the Newark Community. Coleman has had national features on his interest in pickle juice done on CBS This Morning, Sports Illustrated, MSG Network, Food & Wine, and Sportsnet. He created his own merchandise and pickle juice line, P20, to raise funds to support charities throughout the Newark community.
