Right wing PA Parenteau was claimed on waivers by the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday. Parenteau, 33, signed a one-year contract with the New York Islanders on July 2, but was placed on waivers by the Islanders on Monday.

Parenteau has played parts of eight seasons in the NHL with the Chicago Blackhawks, New York Rangers, Islanders, Colorado Avalanche, Montreal Canadiens and Toronto Maple Leafs. He has 268 points (101 goals, 167 assists) in 424 NHL games.
He finished with 41 points (20 goals, 21 assists) with the Maple Leafs last season. His best season in the League was 2011-12, when he had 67 points (18 goals, 49 assists) with the Islanders.
