For the first time this NHL season, the New Jersey Devils have won back-to-back games on home ice. Jesper Bratt had a three-point night - including the game winner - as New Jersey defeated the Arizona Coyotes ‪4-3 on Saturday night‬.
Here are 10 takeaways from the game:

  1. Captain Andy Greene missed his first game of the season after his wife, Rachel, gave birth to their second son. Maddox David Greene was born ‪Friday at 11:23 a.m.‬ Both mom and baby are happy and healthy.

    2. With Greene out of the lineup, coach John Hynes elected to go with 11 forwards and seven defensemen. Dalton Prout and Mirco Mueller drew back into the lineup after being healthy scratches against Ottawa.
    3. Marcus Johansson was injured during the warmup period and was a last-minute scratch with a lower body injury. Stefan Noesen dressed in his place.
    4. Earlier ‪on Friday afternoon‬, Devils GM Ray Shero made a trade that sent goaltender Scott Wedgewood to the Arizona Coyotes in return for a fifth-round pick in 2018.
Wedgewood didn't have to go far to meet up with his new team. He made his way from the home New Jersey locker room to that of the visitors down the hall. Wedgewood backed up Louis Domingue in his first game as a Coyote. "It's an opportunity for me," Wedgewood said.
    5. With Wedgewood traded to Arizona, the Devils activated Schneider off of injured reserve. Schneider started against Arizona and was back in a game for the first time since the end of the second period against the Senators on Oct. 19. He left that game with a lower body injury, and hadn't played since. Schneider finished with 34 saves. Schneider is one win away from 150 in his career.

    6. Wearing the "A"s ‪on Friday night‬ were Taylor Hall, Drew Stafford and Adam Henrique.
    7. Brian Gibbons continues to put the puck in the net. He scored his team leading fifth goal of the season on a shorthanded penalty shot to tie the game ‪at 1-1‬ ‪at 11:55‬ of the first period. Gibbons' goal was the 10th of his career and the fourth shorthanded goal for New Jersey this season. The Devils scored only six shorthanded goals all last season.

Gibbons is the first New Jersey Devil to score a penalty shot goal while shorthanded since Ilya Kovalchuk did it back in January 2013.
    8. Hall scored his second goal of the season to give the Devils a 2-1 lead ‪at 11:09‬ of the second period. He came down the slot and was fed a beautiful pass from Jesper Bratt who was behind the net. Hall's one-timer beat Domingue cleanly for a goal. Bratt earned his fifth assist of the season, while Hall registered his team-leading 11th point of the year.

Hall's second goal of the night was a power play snipe ‪at 4:30‬ of the third period. His second goal of the night was assisted on by Bratt, his second helper of the night, and Adam Henrique. This reporter was certainly pleased to see a two-goal, one assist performance from Hall!
  1. New Jersey are 1-1-0 against the Pacific Division this season.
    10. The Devils have scored 38 goals through 10 games this season. At this time in the 2016-17 season New Jersey had scored just 22.
