The Devils made several roster moves on Friday afternoon.
The team assigned eight players to Utica of the American Hockey League:
Forwards Graeme Clarke, Nolan Foote, Brian Halonen and Aarne Talvitie
Defensemen Reilly Walsh and Nikita Okhotiuk
Goaltenders Nico Daws and Akira Schmid.
Forward Brian Pinho was placed on waivers with the intent to be assigned to Utica (must clear by 2 p.m. Saturday).
The Devils also placed forward Andreas Johnsson on waivers.
The Devils still have 26 players remaining in training camp, 16 forwards, eight defensemen and two goaltenders. Opening day 23-man rosters must be submitted to the NHL by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 10. Three moves will have to be made (not including goalie Jonathan Bernier).
