The Devils received some good news on the injury front. Forward Yegor Sharangovich, who was injured against the New York Rangers Tuesday evening after engaging with Braden Schneider, skated on his own prior to the team's optional practice Wednesday.
"That's a positive," head coach Lindy Ruff said of the skate. "We'll see how he makes out after that and how he feels tomorrow.
"I think there's a possibility (he plays Thursday against Montreal). We'll see where he's at."
