The Devils are practicing Thursday afternoon at Anaheim's Honda Center, and they're doing so with a new face on the ice.
Forward Alex Holtz, the club's first-round pick in 2020 (seventh overall), has been
recalled from Utica of the American Hockey League
. He has lit up the AHL with five goals in his first four games on the season.
The Devils lost goaltender Scott Wedgewood, who was claimed by Arizona on waivers.
Defenseman Dougie Hamilton is the only absent player from practice. He is listed as day-to-day by head coach Lindy Ruff.
"Dougie is doing good. He's just day-to-day," said Ruff, who doesn't expect him to play Friday at Los Angeles.
