PREVIEW

DEVILS vs. BRUINS
TV: 1:00 PM ET; Streamed here on NJD.TV
Head-to-Head:
The annual Buffalo Sabres Prospects Challenge makes its return after going on a hiatus last season due to the pandemic. The last time that this tournament occurred was in 2019 where the Devils Prospects fell 6-4 to the Sabres Prospects.
Devils team scope:
The Devils opened the tournament on Friday with a 3-0 loss to the Buffalo Sabres. Goaltender Nico Daws stopped 23 of 25 shots in the loss.
Based on how Saturday's practice went, it's likely the Devils Prospects roll with the following lineup:
Foote - Mercer - Holtz
Stillman - Thompson - Clarke
Talvitie - Schnarr - Zetterlund
Kaplan - Irvine - Grasso
Bahl - Walsh
Biggar - Okhotiuk
Vukojevic - Masonious
Schmid
Daws
Akira Schmid is likely to get the start between the pipes in place of Daws. Chase Stillman moves onto a line with Tyce Thompson and Graeme Clarke as the Devils look to find some offense. The blueline gets shuffled as Zach Biggar draws in.

Bruins team scope:
The Bruins defeated the Sabres Prospects on Saturday by a score of 5-2. Jesper Froden led the way with two goals and an assist while Samuel Asselin had a goal and two helpers. The game was tied until just under eight minutes remained in the third period and Brett Harrison scored to make it 3-2 Bruins. Boston added another a few minutes later and clinched it with an empty netter.
Harrison, Fabian Lysell and Ryan Mast are the 2021 draft picks suiting up for Boston this weekend. Lysell's line with Asselin and Jacob Lauko did most of the damage to the Sabres Prospects on Saturday.
Goaltender Kyle Keyser played 40 minutes on Saturday, stopping 19 of 20 shots while Jeremy Brodeur turned away 13 of 14 playing in the final frame.
It's unknown who the Bruins may go with today but with only two goaltenders on their roster there's a good chance that Brodeur will see action. Brodeur, 24, is the son of Devils legend Martin Brodeur and played part of last season in Binghamton, playing in three games for the Devils AHL affiliate.
