After two days of virtually drafting players from a war room in Newark, Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald and his franchise walked away with eight new prospects and a 2021 7th round pick from the 2020 NHL Draft.
Fitzgerald and VP of Amateur Scouting Paul Castron discussed the team's acquisitions following the seventh and final round of the draft.
"Some guys are going to be ready quicker than others and that's always the case in this league," said Castron. "But we drafted some high end players early on and maybe they still need time to develop, and they're going to get that time. We took a couple of kids today, they're going to go to college and we can bank down for a few years and let them develop as well."
