Today's game is the second of four contests between New Jersey and Carolina. New Jersey fell in the first game, 2-1 on Nov. 18 at Carolina. The Devils are 2-1-1 in day games this year at the Prudential Center, and 2-3-2 overall. New Jersey is 8-6-0 against Carolina since the 2015-16 season.

In the first matchup, Pavel Zacha (1G) and Jesper Bratt (1A) led the Devils with one point each. For Carolina, six different players chipped in with one point a piece, with Justin Williams and Michael Ferland netting the two goals.
Keith Kinkaid is 7-2-0 against the Hurricanes, posting a 1.87 GAA in 514 minutes of action.
Curtis McElhinney played all 60 minutes in the first contest for Carolina, stopping 24 out of 25 shots faced.
New Jersey and Carolina's next matchup will be on February 10th, at Prudential Center.
