NEWARK, N.J. -The New Jersey Devils announced today that three players- forwards Jimmy Vesey, Mark Jankowski and defenseman Tyler Wotherspoon- have signed PTO contracts. They will join New Jersey when all players report to NHL camp on September 22 at Prudential Center.
Vesey skated in 50 games last season between Toronto and Vancouver, tallying five goals and five assists for 10 points with 58 total shots. Since his NHL debut during the 2016-17 season, Vesey has also played with the NY Rangers and Buffalo. Between 2016 and 2019 Vesey was a member of the Rangers, where he had his best offensive seasons with 16, 17 and 17 goals respectively. His career-high point total came during the 2018-19 season with 35 in his final season with the Rangers. The 28-year-old, left-shot winger has 64 goals, 56 assists for 120 points and 92 penalty minutes in 354 career regular-season NHL games. The native of Boston, MA, added one goal and four assists in 12 Stanley Cup Playoff games. Vesey has been assigned jersey #16.

Jankowski played last season with the Pittsburgh Penguins, appearing in 45 games, scoring four goals and seven assists. The centerman was drafted by the Calgary Flames, 21st overall in the 2012 NHL Draft. The 27-year-old played three full seasons with Calgary prior to Pittsburgh, and has career NHL totals of 40 goals and 35 assists in 235 regular-season games with 75 PIM. The left-shot centerman has also skated in 10 Stanley Cup Playoff contests. Jankowski will wear #14.
Wotherspoon is a left-shot defenseman who has been a staple with the Stockton Heat (Calgary), San Antonio Rampage (Coyotes) and the Lehigh Valley Phantoms (Flyers) in American Hockey League action. While with the Heat and Phantoms, Wotherspoon was named as an alternate captain on both teams. In his eight-year professional career, the Burnaby, BC native has appeared in 433 career AHL games. He tallied five assists in 30 career NHL games over four seasons, all with Calgary. Wotherspoon will wear #34 in camp.
Players attending camp on PTOs are unsigned veteran players who are looking to earn a contract with the club heading into the 2021-22 NHL season.
