The New Jersey Devils announced the team's roster for the 2022 Prospects Challenge to take place Friday, September 16 through Monday, September 19 at LECOM Harborcenter in Buffalo, NY. The Devils will join the Buffalo Sabres, Boston Bruins, Montreal Canadiens, Ottawa Senators and Pittsburgh Penguins as this year's participating teams and will play in three games. New Jersey's 28-man roster includes 15 forwards, nine defensemen and four goaltenders. It features five players and two goaltenders who played NHL games last season (Kevin Bahl, Nolan Foote, Alexander Holtz, Nikita Okhotiuk, Reilly Walsh, Nico Dawsand Akira Schmid), three are NHL first-round picks (Holtz, Foote- TB, and Chase Stillman), two second-round selections, three third-round choices, and the second-overall selection from the 2022 NHL Draft, Simon Nemec. Bahl, Foote and Jeremy Groleau will serve as the three alternate captains for the Challenge.
