The New Jersey Devils today announced that defenseman Reilly Walsh has signed a three-year, entry-level contract. Walsh was New Jersey's fourth selection (third round), 81st overall, in the 2017 NHL Draft. The announcement was made by Devils' Executive Vice President/General Manager Tom Fitzgerald.

Walsh, 21, spent the last three seasons, 2017-20, in the NCAA with Harvard University (ECAC). During his 2018-19 season, Walsh recorded a career-high 12 goals and 19 assists for 31 points in 33 games played. In his most recent season, the right-handed blue-liner ranked second in the conference for defenseman scoring with eight goals and 19 assists for 27 points. He was named to the All-Ivy League Honorable Mention Team this year. Walsh tied for fourth in assists amongst his competitors in Ivy League play, and fourth in power-play points with six goals and nine assists for 15 points. His freshman year, he was named to the ECAC All-Rookie Team and was named to the ECAC Third All-Star and All-Ivy League Honorable Mention Teams his sophomore year. He finished his collegiate career with Harvard posting 27 goals and 51 assists for 78 points in 96 games played.

"We are excited to add Reilly to the Devils' organization," Fitzgerald said. "Since being drafted in 2017, our staff has watched him blossom into the leader he is today, both on and off the ice. Walsh is a fast, puck-moving defenseman who has developed his all-around game this past season. He was a dynamic playmaker for Harvard, with an offensive mind that allowed him to easily transition and jump up into the play if needed. He has the skillset our club is looking for and adds to our stable of defensive professional prospects joining the organization."

Walsh spent his season before attending Harvard with Proctor Academy (USHS) and the Chicago Steel of the USHL. Born April 21, 1999, the 6-0, 185lb. native of Andover, New Hampshire, is the son of former NHLer, Mike Walsh, who was a teammate of Fitzgerald's in the AHL and NHL. Reilly's younger brother, Ronan, played for Proctor last year and is committed to the University of Vermont.
