The New Jersey Devils will host their Video Game Day on March 9, 2024, when they face off against the Carolina Hurricanes for a 12:30 PM contest at Prudential Center. The day will celebrate all things video games and the recently launched Devils Gaming Group with multiple video game-themed elements including: classic gaming stations throughout the main concourse, an EA SPORTS™ NHL 24 face-off between one lucky fan and mascot NJ Devil, the official unveiling of the new Devils Gaming Group Esports Lounge, and more. The first 9,000 fans in attendance will receive Jack and Luke Hughes video game-themed socks.
The day will kick off with a custom video game-themed feature leading into “Light Up The Rock” with NJ Devil. From 10:00-11:00 AM, there will be an official grand opening of the Devils Gaming Group Esports Lounge featuring representatives from the National Hockey League, Rival and New Jersey Devils. They will be joined by mascot NJ Devil, Devils Alumnus Grant Marshall, local esports influencers, past Devils Gaming Group tournament winners from this season, and professional esports players from Team Dignitas, Gyro and AlarmingAmber.
In addition to classic gaming stations available to play on the main concourse, Dom Palombi’s Game Night band will perform video game-themed songs before the game and during both intermissions. Gyro and AlarmingAmber from Team Dignitas will be available for meet and greets and autographs on the main concourse as well. In-game elements including music, video content, and custom headshots will all reflect the video game theme as well.
During the second intermission, NJ Devil will compete against a fan in EA SPORTS™ NHL 24 in the newly unveiled Devils Gaming Group Esports Lounge. The exclusive Devils Gaming Group Esports Lounge is located above Section 225 overlooking Prudential Center ice and available for group entertainment experiences. The lounge will also serve as the official home of marquee, in-person tournament competitions and livestreams with fans featuring esports influencers, special guests and mascot NJ Devil.
