The Ducks have acquired defenseman Matt Irwin and a sixth-round selection in the 2022 NHL Draft from the Nashville Predators for defenseman Korbinian Holzer.
Irwin, 32 (11/29/87), has 22-59=81 points with a +16 rating and 146 penalty minutes (PIM) in 350 career NHL games with Nashville (2016-20), Boston (2015-16) and San Jose (2012-15). The 6-1, 207-pound defenseman reached the Stanley Cup Final with the Predators in 2017 and owns 1-3=4 points in 47 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. Signed by Nashville as a free agent July 1, 2016, Irwin earned two assists and 11 PIM in 27 games with the Predators this season.

Holzer, 32 (2/16/88), collected 1-3=4 points and 35 PIM in 46 games with the Ducks this season. Holzer, who appeared in his 200th career NHL game Feb. 17 at Calgary, led the Ducks with 85 blocked shots in 2019-20. Acquired from Toronto for Eric Brewer and a 2016 fifth-round draft pick Mar. 2, 2015, Holzer posted 6-21=27 points with 137 PIM in 203 career NHL games with Anaheim and Toronto.
