"I'm super excited," Perreault said. "When I saw the Ducks were up, I really had a feeling they were going to pick me. I'm really excited they did. They have a lot of young prospects who I've watched a lot in the past couple years. Trevor Zegras, I saw him at the World Juniors. He's a really good player.
"I'm more than a one-dimensional player. I have a good shot and can beat the goalie 1-on-1. I see the ice pretty well. I understand the game really well. It's really something I try to use to my advantage, whether it's to fake the goalie out with a fake-shot and go across to my teammate for a goal, or if it's a one-timer on the power play. I can use my speed really well. I'm a really coachable player. I really want to get better. I'll take any advice I can get. I'm really excited to get things started."
Hockey runs in the Perreault family. His dad, Yanic, was a third-round pick by the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1991 (47th overall) and recorded 516 points (247g/269a) in 859 career NHL games with the Maple Leafs, LA Kings, Montreal Canadiens, Nashville Predators, Phoenix Coyotes and Chicago Blackhawks. His sister, Liliane, is a forward who skated for Mercyhurst University in 2019-20.
