Starting at 5:30 p.m., Puck Drop Patio (north side of arena) will play host to numerous activities and performances prior to the game including a photo booth with art banners, lanterns and a wishing wall for fans to contribute New Year greetings and wishes for 2023. The Orange County based Southern Wind Lion Dance (Gio Nam Mua Lan) team will also be performing throughout the night. Gathering their influence from the Four Winds, they combine the traditional and modern style of lion dancing to form our own unique way of presenting the art. The primary aim of the Southern Wind Lion Dance team strives to preserve and promote the Vietnamese culture in their school and surrounding community. The Miss Vietnam of Southern California (MVSC) pageant contestants will also be in attendance to participate in the celebration. MVSC or Hoa Khôi Liên Trường (HKLT) is a prestigious Vietnamese American Cultural & Scholastic Pageant hosted by the Union of the Vietnamese Student Associations (UVSA). MVSC's primary focus is to elevate the Vietnamese American woman as a national symbol of beauty and pride captured internally and externally through her poise, grace, intellectual strength, and individuality. Hosted annually at the largest Tet Festival in the United States, which is held at the OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, MVSC serves to promote Vietnamese culture through language, music, dance, and the Vietnamese traditional dress, the áo dài.
Inside Honda Center, Lunar New Year themed entertainment will help to ring in the Year of the Rabbit (Chinese zodiac) and Cat (Vietnamese zodiac). Videos of Ducks fans and S.C.O.R.E. participants delivering New Year's greetings and messages of luck for the Ducks in their native languages will also be played. Puck Drop Patio and Impact Club will be adorned with traditional, colorful lanterns; select performances will also occur in the TCL entrance, concourse, and Impact Club throughout the evening. Additionally, fans can enjoy food and beverages from local Asian inspired food trucks at Puck Drop Patio. Kirin Ichiban will be on-site to participate in the festivities with a lantern tunnel, free giveaway items in addition to promoting their frozen beer available for purchase at select concessions in Honda Center. Sir Owlverick's Coffee, proudly founded in Anaheim, Certified Organic and Certified Women Minority-Owned, will also be on site to provide coffee tastings. Limited edition commemorative posters designed by local Asian-American artist, Joe Suzuki, will be displayed throughout the arena and available for purchase at Puck Drop Patio and the Team Store.
