The Ducks will celebrate the next generation of leaders during the inaugural Futures Night at Honda Center as the Ducks face off against the Minnesota Wild tonight, Dec. 21 (7 p.m.). Futures Night will provide young fans who are interested in pursuing a career in the sports industry with hands-on experience learning the ins and outs of working a Ducks game by shadowing Ducks employees.

This special night will feature cameos from young fans from the local community throughout the night including a "future" coach, broadcaster, in-arena host, Power Player, ice crew member, equipment manager and DJ. Current 21st Duck, 11-year-old Ethan Baroldi, will serve as the honorary coach for the Ducks reading the starting lineup to the team in the locker room. The Anaheim native, Ethan was born with a congenital heart defect and has battled through four heart surgeries, the first coming at six weeks old, the most recent in 2020. Ethan is also a member of the Junior Ducks 12UB hockey team.
Earlier this week, 11-year-old Ryder Getzlaf, son of former Ducks captain Ryan Getzlaf, attended practice to work as the teams' junior reporter.

Junior Reporter Ryder Getzlaf interviews the Ducks

In honor of celebrating the next generation of hockey players, Ducks players will pay tribute to 20 local high schools participating in the Anaheim Ducks High School Hockey League (ADHSHL) by wearing their respective jerseys upon arrival to Honda Center. During intermission, the Ducks will unveil the senior, varsity and junior varsity rosters for the 2023 ADHSHL All-Star Game hydrated by BioSteel which will take place Sunday, Jan. 29 at Great Park Ice & FivePoint Arena starting at 11 a.m. Additionally, there will be an All-Star Skills competition for each division. The ADHSHL is currently in its 15th season, with 55 teams from 29 schools throughout Los Angeles, Orange and San Diego Counties, Northern California and Nevada.
