"Obviously, we were going to lose one player in expansion, but we felt freeing up some salary would help us this summer. Vegas will be pleased as well, acquiring a good young prospect in Shea and a solid veteran and leader in Clayton. Our needs aligned and we were able to work out a deal."

Stoner, 32 (2/19/85), has appeared in 360 NHL career games with Minnesota and Anaheim, collecting 7-41=48 points with a +5 rating and 459 PIM. The 6-4, 215-pound defenseman has also collected 2-3=5 points with 36 PIM in appeared in 31 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
