Judging by line rushes, this will be the lineup that suits up tonight:
Nick Ritchie - Rickard Rakell - Kevin Roy
Alex Dostie - Dennis Rasmussen - Jared Boll
Max Comtois - Derek Grant - Logan Shaw
Jack Kopacka - Antoine Morand - Corey Tropp
Josh Mahura - Brandon Montour
Marcus Pettersson - Josh Manson
Jaycob Megna - Andy Welinski
Reto Berra
Olle Eriksson Ek
As Ducks head coach Randy Carlyle alluded to yesterday, the lineup includes a handful of experienced players, like Rakell, Rasmussen, Ritchie and Manson. Rasmussen, who signed a one-year contract with the Ducks in the summer, says he's eager to apply the things he's learned in training camp into an actual game.
"I want to play a solid two-way game and be on the right side of the puck," said Rasmussen, who earned eight points (4g/4a) with 12 penalty minutes in 68 games with the Chicago Blackhawks last season. "Work the system like we've talked about in practice." The 6-foot-3, 205-pound Vasteras, Sweden native will center a line with Dostie and Boll.
While this isn't Rasmussen's first NHL preseason experience, it is for the 18-year-old Comtois. Selected in the second round (50th overall) of the 2017 NHL Draft, Comtois will be on a line with Grant and Shaw. Though the 6-foot-2, 200-pound winger took part in the recent Prospect Showcase in San Jose, Comtois knows this will be a vastly different level of competition.
"NHL guys are probably going to play tonight, so it's going to be nice playing against them to see what I can do," Comtois said. "I'm just excited to play tonight. I feel good. They just told me to have fun and talk with [one another]. I'm ready for tonight."
Below are the lineups for each team.
