Anaheim looks to respond from a 6-3 loss to the Kings Wednesday at Honda Center. The Ducks raced out to an early 3-0 lead but could not hold off the Kings' comeback attempt, led by a hat trick from Arthur Kaliyev and 39 saves from Cal Peterson. Nic Deslauriers, Jakob Silfverberg and Rickard Rakell scored for Anaheim. Trevor Zegras added an assist to extend his preseason point streak to three games (1-3=4).
Anaheim trimmed its
training camp roster
to 29 players (16 forwards, 10 defensemen and three goaltenders) on Friday, assigning netminder Lukas Dostal to San Diego (AHL) and 2021 second-round pick Olen Zellweger to Everett (WHL).
The Ducks open the regular season Wednesday against the Winnipeg Jets at Honda Center.
Tickets are on sale now.
The Kings sit 3-3-0 in the preseason prior to Saturday's exhibition finale with the Ducks.
Los Angeles will be without top prospect and 2020 second-overall pick Quinton Byfield indefinitely as the young center suffered a fractured left ankle in Tuesday's game at Arizona. Byfield made his NHL debut last April against the Ducks and also posted 8-12=20 points in 32 AHL games with the Ontario Reign.
