Trevor Zegras became Anaheim's all-time rookie scoring leader in Ryan Getzlaf's final Freeway Face-Off, but the Ducks fell 4-2 to the rival Los Angeles Kings to conclude a four-game season series.

The loss dropped Anaheim to 30-35-14 (74 points), seventh in the Pacific Division, with three games remaining on the regular-season schedule. The Ducks will return home tomorrow for the final NHL game of Getzlaf's career on Fan Appreciation Night at Honda Center.
Zegras scored his 22nd goal of the season, passing Bobby Ryan for the Ducks all-time rookie single-season scoring record (58 points). Zegras is second among NHL rookies in points, third in assists (36) and fourth in goals (22).
Anthony Stolarz was strong throughout his 22nd start, stopping 36-of-39 shots and keeping the Ducks in it early with a terrific first period.
Gerry Mayhew also scored for Anaheim and now has three points in his last three games (2-1=3).
With the win, the Kings improved to 43-27-10 (96 points) and inched closer to clinching a postseason berth.
Jonathan Quick made 19 saves for his 27th career win over the Ducks, his second of the week. Quick has made six straight starts in net for LA, seemingly taking hold of the crease heading into the playoffs. Arthur Kaliyev, Matt Roy, Alexander Edler and Alex Iafallo scored for the Kings.
LA went ahead first midway through the opening frame when Kaliyev slammed home a backdoor pass from former second-overall pick Quinton Byfield.
Anaheim then responded early in the second on Zegras' record-setting point courtesy of a classic Getzlaf power-play cross-seam pass. The Ducks captain held the puck in the left faceoff circle, surveying his options before delivering a dart across the ice to Zegras, who snapped a wrist shot over Quick's glove to level the score.

ANA@LAK: Zegras hits top shelf for game-tying PPG

The goal marked Zegras' 58th point of his rookie season, moving him past Ryan for the most in Ducks history. The 20-year-old center has eight points in his last eight games (4-4=8) and leads the Ducks in assists (36).
The Ducks then got a gift to take their first lead of the night, a critical error by Quick on a bouncing dump-in by Mayhew. The Ducks winger grabbed a loose puck in the defensive zone, racing ahead to neutral ice and flipping the puck over the defense towards Quick. The Kings netminder, in search of a breakout pass, attempted to play the puck, but had it bounce over his stick and into the net, putting the Ducks ahead 2-1.

ANA@LAK: Mayhew scores his 10th off dump-in

Mayhew was credited with the goal, his tenth of the season and fourth in 14 games as a Duck.
The Anaheim advantage lasted just two minutes though as a defensive zone turnover proved costly for the visitors, who saw Roy hammer home a point shot after a takeaway by Kaliyev.
Kaliyev has three points in three career games against the Ducks.
The 2-2 tie persisted into the third, when the home side got a bounce of their own to reclaim the lead. After the Kings controlled a faceoff to Stolarz's right, Edler quickly fired a point shot into traffic, where it deflected off Isac Lundestrom and out the sliding Stolarz's reach, putting the Kings ahead 3-2 with under 14 minutes to play in regulation.
LA would shut the door from there, locking down the defensive zone and preventing the Ducks from generating any quality scoring chances. Anaheim's hopes were officially dashed with just over a minute to go when Adam Henrique was whistled for a tripping call, much to the disbelief of the Ducks players on the ice.
Iafallo then hit the empty-net, sealing a 4-2 Kings victory.
Following the final horn, Kings players and staff greeted Getzlaf at center ice in a classy move of respect to Anaheim's longtime captain, who played 91 total games against the crosstown rivals in his 17-year NHL career. Getzlaf retires third in Ducks history in scoring vs. the Kings, trailing only Paul Kariya and Teemu Selanne.
The Ducks return home tomorrow for Getzlaf's final NHL game and Fan Appreciation Night at Honda Center.
