Recap: Streaks Live as Ducks Win Wild One in Vancouver

Troy Terry's point streak hit 12 games, including an OT game-winner, and John Gibson made 41 saves to guide the Ducks to their fifth straight win, defeating the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 tonight at Rogers Arena. The win also pushes the Ducks point streak to seven games (5-0-2).

Terry (1-1=2) extended his streak with an assist on the game's opening goal. The 24-year-old became the fifth Duck with points in 12 straight, joining Paul Kariya, Teemu Selanne, Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry. Terry's scoring run is the longest by a Duck since 2013.
Gibson stopped 41-of-43 shots to post his fourth straight win.
"John came into camp with a great attitude," Getzlaf said. "If you saw him work in practice, it really sheds light for me. Those are the areas where Gibby drives our team and drives us to be better, and it shows. The result is out there. The guys rally around him. We have all the faith in the world in him."
Cam Fowler and Isac Lundestrom also scored for Anaheim.
The Canucks controlled the better of play in the first period, but Gibson stood tall with 13 saves to keep the home team off the board.
The Ducks took advantage of their netminder's stellar start to the evening, capitalizing on the power-play to to take the lead. Terry poked a loose puck along the wall to Fowler at the right point, where the Anaheim blueliner played catch with Sonny Milano along the edge of the zone. Fowler eventually found some open space between the circles, drifting into the slot and firing a wrist shot by Vancouver netminder Jaroslav Halak to put the Ducks ahead.

With the goal, Fowler became the fifth Duck to reach double-digit points this season (Terry, Shattenkirk, Henrique, Getzlaf). Seven of Fowler's 10 points, and both of his goals, have come on the power play.
Milano has found the scoresheet in five of his last six games (1-4=5).
The Ducks doubled the lead in the third period, but had to wait a few minutes to celebrate it. Lundestrom had his shot denied by Halak but the puck bounced off a Vancouver defender in front of the net and trickled just over the goal line before J.T. Miller swept it away. Play continued for just over a minute before the horn sounded inside Rogers Arena and the goal was awarded. The Ducks bench swarmed Lundestrom, giving the young center some overdue hugs.

Miller cut the deficit in half for the Canucks with six and a half minutes to play in the third period, beating Gibson with a wrist shot through traffic.
The Canucks evened the score in the final minute of regulation. With the extra skater on, Derek Grant's stick broke, making a difficult situation worse for the Ducks. The Canucks took advantage as Elias Pettersson danced around Grant and snapped a shot past Gibson to level the score at two.
The teams traded chances throughout overtime and the Canucks twice nearly walked away with the extra point, but Gibson made consecutive point-blank saves to keep the Ducks alive. Moments later, Jamie Drysdale poked the puck away in the defensive zone and Getzlaf turned the other way for an odd-man rush, spotting Terry driving to the backdoor. Getzlaf hesitated to find his passing lane, sending a perfect feed to Terry, who lifted it by Halak to give the Ducks a 3-2 win.

The Ducks conclude their two-game road trip Thursday in Seattle.
