Ducks forward Troy Terry will not be with the Ducks on the current three-game road trip because of the possible early birth of his first child. Troy and his wife Dani had an original due date in May, but she recently experienced some "complications" and remains in good health. Anaheim's road trip includes Thursday night's game in Seattle, then Saturday in Edmonton and Sunday in Calgary.

"I'll be staying here just skating," Terry said Wednesday, having returned to practice for the first time since leaving last Saturday's game vs. St. Louis after the second period and missing Monday's game vs. Colorado at Honda Center. "Basically, some complications have come up and she's okay. The baby's healthy. We're kind of in a weird spot where anything could happen and we're going to Canada [on the road trip], so I'll be staying here and skating and meet the team when they come back.
"I'll just be here helping out with her. That's kind of the bottom line is some complications have come up and it's pretty unpredictable."
Terry is Anaheim's second-leading scorer with 56 points (including 21 goals) in 66 games. He said his plan is to play the remaining four home games on the Ducks' schedule. "If it was a local game tomorrow," he said, "I would play."

Terry emphasized the full support he's gotten from the Ducks, starting when he left Saturday's game. "Our organization has been incredible to me," he said. "Pat (Verbeek) and Dallas all have been great to me. I felt a lot of support."
With an original May due date, Terry said their plan was to have the baby back home in Colorado, and pivoting to a California birth will take some maneuvering. "We have absolutely nothing in the state of California for a baby to come," he said. "So I'm in full scramble mode for the next little bit too. I even shipped (Dani's) car home and all I have is my little BMW. The baby will be a California baby."
