With the addition of KHS ICE, The Rinks will also add Jr. Ice Dogs program, consisting of seven youth hockey teams from ages 8-18. The Jr. Ice Dogs program will remain the same throughout the 2022-23 season. The Jr. Ice Dogs program joins several youth hockey organizations overseen by The Rinks Development Program, including the Anaheim Jr. Ducks, Anaheim Lady Ducks, San Diego Jr. Gulls and Orange County Hockey Club. The Jr. Ducks and Lady Ducks are recognized as Model Club Associations through USA Hockey, and are dedicated to age-appropriate, age-specific skill development, in accordance with USA Hockey's American Development Model.
"It's exciting to add two additional sheets of ice as we grow The Rinks Development Program in Southern California," said Vice President of The Rinks Art Trottier. "KHS Ice Arena will continue to be a great community asset as hockey and ice skating continues to grow in our region. We look forward to integrating the Jr. Ice Dogs program into our youth hockey setup with the Jr. Ducks to continue to support, grow and develop players at ever skill level."
