1. 10 MONTHS
The Wells Fargo Center will see it's first hockey action in exactly 10 months and 307 days with the last game being played on Mar. 10, 2020 vs. Boston Bruins - a 2-0 loss... Despite the loss, the Flyers owned the best home record in the NHL with the most wins (25) and highest winning percentage (.771) before the NHL Pause on Mar. 12.
- THE FIRST SINCE...
Tonight scrimmage at Wells Fargo Center is the first scrimmage or exhibition game of its kind in which the teams will wear game jerseys and have on-ice officials since the final game at the Spectrum on Oct. 7, 2008 when the Flyers took on their AHL affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms - Phantoms won the game 4-2.
3. FIRSTS... SORT OF
With no preseason games, this game will serve as the first time members of the 2020 Draft Class will put on a Flyers sweater - #52 Tyson Foerster, the club's 1st round pick (23rd overall) & #60 Zayde Wisdom, fourth round (94th overall)... In addition, fans will get their first look at the Flyers off-season acquisitions, defenseman Erik Gustafsson and forward Linus Sandin.
4. THIS, THAT & THE OTHER
THIS: Samuel Morin will play forward for the first time since before junior hockey when he takes the ice at left wing in the scrimmage for Team Orange... THAT: Phantoms head coach, Scott Gordon, will coach the home team (Orange Jerseys) while Phantoms assistant coach, Kerry Huffman, will coach the visiting team (White Jerseys)... The Flyers coaching staff will watch the game from above... THE OTHER: Expect all four goaltenders to see action in the game with it being the first time goaltending prospect, Felix Sandstrom, will suit up for the Flyers.
5. PLAYERS TO WATCH
FLYERS ORANGE (LW: #23 - Oskar Lindblom)
Lindblom appeared in the final two games of the Second Round series vs. NY Islanders but will take to the ice for the first time in over a year at Wells Fargo Center... He was the Flyers leading goal-scorer before he was diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma in December of 2019 and has spent time at camp on a line with Sean Couturier at center and Travis Konecny on the right side.
FLYERS WHITE (C: #19 - Nolan Patrick)
After participating in training camp, Nolan Patrick will be in his first game-like simulation after missing all of the 2019-20 season with a migraine disorder... The 22-year-old inked a new deal in the off-season and is coming off 30 & 31 points seasons in his first two years in the league.
