Two of the most storied lines in Flyers history will reunite among dozens of other notable players from every era of the team's 50 years when the Flyers alumni take on the Pittsburgh Penguins alumni in the 2017 Alumni Game presented by AAA, which takes place this Saturday, January 14 at the Wells Fargo Center. Puck drop is at 7 PM.
The Flyers' on-ice roster includes the top seven members of the franchise's all-time scoring list, the two top-scoring defensemen in franchise history, and other key contributors to each and every one of the team's eight appearances in the Stanley Cup Final and 16 appearances in the NHL's semifinal/conference final rounds. Representation ranges from original Flyer Joe Watson to dynamic forwards Danny Briere and Simon Gagne, key members of the 2010 Stanley Cup finalists who most recently played for the team in 2013.
The "LCB Line" of Reggie Leach, Bobby Clarke and Bill Barber, which was the Flyers' top line on the Stanley Cup championship teams of 1974 and 1975, will join the 1990s-era "Legion of Doom" line of Mikael Renberg, Eric Lindros and John LeClair in its return to the Wells Fargo Center, which it helped open in 1996.
Several key players from the Flyers' two Stanley Cup finalists in 1985 and 1987 will also be on hand, including Hall of Fame defenseman Mark Howe, the Flyers' franchise-record holder for points by a defenseman; Brian Propp, who ranks second in Flyers history in both goals and assists and third in overall points; and Dave Poulin, the captain of both teams whose 5-on-3 shorthanded goal vs. Quebec in 1987 helped propel the Flyers to that year's Stanley Cup Final. Right wing Tim Kerr, the franchise's all-time leader in power play goals and hat tricks, is returning to the ice for the first time since his 1993 retirement from the NHL. Also taking the ice from those teams will be legendary enforcer Dave Brown; forward Murray Craven, who posted 424 points in 523 games over seven seasons; and ever-reliable defensemen Brad Marsh and Kjell Samuelsson.

In addition to the Legion of Doom, the 1990s-era teams return the likes of Eric Desjardins, second only to Howe in scoring by a Flyers defenseman; goaltender Brian Boucher, who burst on the scene in 1999-2000 to carry the team to the Eastern Conference Finals and later was a key part of the 2010 Stanley Cup Final run; and fan-favorite enforcer Todd Fedoruk.
The on-ice roster also includes Stanley Cup champions Bob Kelly, Orest Kindrachuk, and Jim Watson; late-'80s/early '90s defenseman Terry Carkner, and goaltender Neil Little, a two-time Calder Cup champion with the Philadelphia Phantoms.
In addition to the playing roster, the Flyers are also welcoming in nearly two dozen alumni guests who will not be playing in the game. They include current Flyers president Paul Holmgren, who over 40 years has served the Flyers in nearly every role possible from player to head coach to general manager to his current position; and many members of the 1974 and 1975 championship teams. The group includes 10 more members of the original Flyers team from 1967-68, among which are Lou Angotti, the first captain in team history, and both goaltenders from the inaugural season - Bernie Parent and Doug Favell.
A complete list of attendees for the event can be found at the bottom of this page.
The event will be televised on TCN, with Flyers alum and current television analyst Bill Clement hosting the program and Flyers PA announcer Lou Nolan, an original Flyers employee who's been in his current role since 1973, interviewing players on the bench during the game. Ed Hospodar, Doug Crossman, Parent and Favell will join Clement in the broadcast booth. Coverage will begin at 6:30 PM.
