The Philadelphia Flyers announced today they have signed defenseman Nick Seeler to a two-year, one-way/two-way, contract with an average annual value (AAV) of $775K, according to President of Hockey Operations and General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.

Seeler, 28 (6/3/1993), finished his first season with the Flyers in 2021-22 where he recorded three points (1g-2a) in 43 games to go along with 29 penalty minutes and an average of 13:05 of ice time per-game. He originally signed a one-year, two-way contract as a free agent with the Flyers on July 28, 2021.

Over parts of four seasons in the NHL with the Minnesota Wild (2017-20), Chicago Blackhawks (2020) and Flyers (2021-22), Seeler has appeared in 148 regular season games where he has posted 15 points (3g-12a) and 129 penalty minutes. He has two assists in five career Stanley Cup Playoff games, all with Minnesota in 2017-18.

The 6-foot-2, 201-pound defenseman also spent three seasons (2016-20) with the Wild's American Hockey League affiliate, the Iowa Wild, where he recorded 19 points (2g-17a) in 112 regular season games.

A native of Eden Prairie, Minn., Seeler played two years at the University of Nebraska-Omaha (2012-14) before transferring to the University of Minnesota for the 2015-16 season. He was selected in the fifth round (131st overall) in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft by the Wild.
