The Philadelphia Flyers announced the club has signed defenseman Ethan Samson to an entry-level contract, according to President of Hockey Operations & General Manager, Chuck Fletcher.

Samson, 19 (8/23/03), owns 24 points (9-15=24), eight power-play goals (PPG), 34 penalty minutes (PIM) and 89 shots in 27 games with the Prince George Cougars of the Western Hockey League (WHL) this season. The 6-foot-3, 183-pound native of Delta, British Columbia, ranks T-2nd on the team in PPG and T-1st among team defensemen in goals and second in assists and points this season. He ranks T-2nd among WHL defensemen in PPG and T-4th in goals. He recorded his second career multi-goal game at Vancouver on Oct. 21. The right-shot defenseman recorded a season-high four-game point streak (1-4=5), Sept. 30-Oct. 12. Sixteen of his 24 points this season have come on the power play and he owns a season-high seven multi-point games.
Samson has 86 points (27-59=86), 17 PPG, eight game-winning goals (GWG), 116 PIM and 445 shots in 178 career games with Prince George in four seasons (2019-23). He collected a career-high 12 multi-point games during the 2021-22 season and appeared in four playoff contests with the Cougars during the 2022 WHL Playoffs.
Samson was selected by the Flyers in the sixth round (174th overall) of the 2021 NHL Draft.
