Braun, 35 (2/10/1987), split last season between the Flyers and New York Rangers and posted 18 points (6g-12a) in 69 regular season games.
He was dealt by the Flyers at the trade deadline on Mar. 21 to the New York Rangers in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2023 NHL Entry Draft. He posted two points (1g-1a) in eight regular season games for the Rangers and added one assist while appearing in 19 of 20 Stanley Cup Playoff games to help New York reach the Eastern Conference Final.
Prior to joining the Rangers, Braun recorded 16 points (5g-11a) and was a +3 while averaging over 20 minutes of ice time per-game at 20:02 in 61 games for the Flyers. At the time, his five goals tied for the team lead among defensemen.
A native of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Braun spent three seasons with the club from 2019-22 season. He recorded a total of 41 points (9g-32a) in 176 regular season games with the Flyers and averaged 18:36 of ice time.
Braun was originally acquired by the Flyers in a trade with the San Jose Sharks on June 18, 2019 in exchange for a second round pick in 2019 and third round pick in 2020. He signed a two-year contract extension with the Flyers on Oct. 5, 2020.
Over parts of 12 seasons in the NHL, Braun has recorded 34 goals and 163 assists for 197 points in 791 regular season games with the Sharks (2010-19), Flyers (2019-22) and Rangers (2022). He is also a veteran of 119 Stanley Cup Playoff games and has posted 16 points (3g-13a).
