The Vegas Golden Knights Foundation has partnered with the national non-profit, America's VetDogs, to help co-raise Maverick, a yellow labrador retriever, to undergo basic training and socialization with Golden Knights players, staff, and fans.
Maverick will then be trained to become a service dog, free of charge, to a Veteran, active-duty service member, or a first responder in need.
Each season, the Vegas Golden Knights recognize current and past military members during a select game in the month of November.
During the 2023 season, specialty military jerseys were signed and auctioned off during the game. We helped raise over $75,000 with proceeds benefiting the Folded Flag Foundation which provides grants and scholarships to kids and spouses of US Military members who lost their lives in the line of duty.
As well as celebrating Military Appreciation through a specialty jersey, the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation hosted a ball hockey clinic at Nellis Airforce Base. We were joined by youth who live on base with their active-duty parent, VGK Alumni Deryk Engelland and VGK players Paul Cotter and Keegan Kolesar.
The Vegas Golden Knight host a 51/49 Raffle at all Vegas Golden Knights home games. One lucky participant will win 51 percent of the proceeds from the raffle. Net proceeds from the 51/49 Raffle will benefit the Vegas Golden Knights Foundation.
Promotional support of the 51/49 Raffle is sponsored by Raising Cane’s.
