Pups N Play web

Nashville, Tenn. (April 21, 2022) - The Nashville Predators organization announced today that they will unveil a new dog park, PupsNPlay, on Sunday, April 24 in partnership with Mars Petcare. The park, which will be located next to Bridgestone Arena on Sixth Avenue, will host an official ribbon cutting celebration with pet adoptions for the grand opening event on April 24 beginning at 5 p.m.
"We are thrilled to partner with Mars Petcare to open a much-needed dog park for downtown residents to enjoy with their pets," Nashville Predators Executive Vice President and Chief Revenue Officer Chris Junghans said. "The Preds are also proud to support the Nashville Humane Society, Wags & Walks Nashville and Metro Animal Care and Control. We hope the grand opening event encourages those in the community to adopt from one of Nashville's shelters."

The Nashville Predators leveraged insights from Mars Petcare's BETTER CITIES FOR PETS program in the development of PupsNPlay. The BETTER CITIES FOR PETS program advocates for more welcoming places for pet parents and their pets while also educating around and encouraging responsible pet ownership. PupsNPlay will feature a double gate system for safety, rules and responsible pet ownership signage, benches, waste stations and a hydration station for dogs. The new dog park will offer a new option for the nearly 5,000 dogs that live in Downtown Nashville, according to the 2021 Nashville Downtown Partnership Annual Report.
Following the ribbon cutting, the Nashville Predators will host the first PupsNPlay watch party tailgate featuring Mars Petcare giveaways for pet parents and dog treats for four-legged attendees. Fans and their pets are encouraged to stay and watch the Nashville Predators take on the Minnesota Wild at 7 p.m. from the new dog park, where the game will be shown on screens outside. Additionally, Nashville Humane Association will be on the Bridgestone Arena Plaza for puppy cuddles and photo opportunities. Wags & Walks Nashville will also be on the Plaza with adoptable dogs for the Dog Park grand opening event.
"Building a new dog park in downtown Nashville and the booming Fifth & Broadway area is a huge win for pets and pet parents, and we're grateful to the Nashville Predators for their partnership in this effort," said Ikdeep Singh, Regional President, Mars Petcare North America. "Nashville was one of our first BETTER CITIES FOR PETS certified cities, and we're thrilled that our hometown continues to lead the way in making people and pets welcome."
The opening of PupsNPlay is the culminating event during a month where the Nashville Predators teamed up with Mars Petcare to shine a spotlight on dog adoption. Prior to the game against the San Jose Sharks on April 12, select Nashville Predators players arrived at Bridgestone Arena each walking dogs available for adoption at the Nashville Humane Society and Metro Animal Care and Control.
