1. THE BASICS:

Wagner is a 26-year-old, right-handed center. He's 6'0, 198 lbs. and most recently played for the Anaheim Ducks. He was drafted by the Ducks in the fifth round of the 2010 NHL Draft. He is a pending unrestricted free agent.

2. HIS STATS:

Wagner has 15 points (6G, 9A) in 64 games with Anaheim this season. He's set NHL career highs in games played, assists and points, while his six goals ties his output from last season.
Wagner has 28 points (16G, 12A) in 159 NHL games (133 for Anaheim, 26 for Colorado).

3. HE' A PHYSICAL PRESENCE:

Wagner also has 212 hits this season, which is second in the NHL, trailing only Philadelphia's Robert Hagg (220). Last season Wagner had 112 in 43 games, averaging 2.6 per contest.

4. HE PLAYED COLLEGE HOCKEY AT COLGATE:

Wagner played two seasons (2010-12) at Colgate University, racking up 70 points (26G, 44A) in 79 games. Wagner was named to the ECAC second all-star team in 2012 after posting 51 points (17G, 34A) in 38 games.

5. HE'S FROM WALPOLE, MA:

Wagner is the second NHL player drafted from Walpole, with the other being Scott MacDonald, a ninth-round draft pick by the Chicago Blackhawks in 1991.
Wagner is the sixth American player on the Islanders roster.

6. HE PLAYED IN THE AHL ALL-STAR GAME:

Wagner played 239 games with Norfolk and San Diego in the American Hockey League, scoring 55 goals and adding 51 assists for 106 points.
Wagner wore an "A" from 2013-16. He played in the AHL all-star game during the 2014-15.

7. HE LED THE EJHL IN SCORING:

Wagner led the Eastern Junior Hockey League in scoring in 2009-10, with 83 points (34G, 49A) in 44 games with the South Shore Kings. Wagner led the league in goals, assists and points, winning the MVP and Offensive Player of the Year awards.
