The New York Islanders have acquired forward Pierre Engvall from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a third round pick in the 2024 NHL Draft.
Engvall, 26, has 21 points (12 goals, nine assists) in 58 games this season with Toronto. Last season, he posted career highs in goals (15), assists (20) and games (78) during his third year with the Maple Leafs.

Toronto selected Engvall in the seventh round (188th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft. The Ljungby, Sweden native has 83 points (42 goals, 41 assists) in 226 career regular season games and added four assists in 17 career Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Engvall previously spent three seasons with the Toronto Marlies (2017-20) where he posted 56 points (30 goals, 26 assists) in 94 career regular season AHL games and added 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) through 34 career playoff games. Engvall won the 2018 Calder Cup with the Marlies where he recorded eight points (three goals, five assists) through 20 games.
