BROOKLYN (Oct. 13, 2016) - Barclays Center will celebrate the start of the Islanders' second season in Brooklyn with a special lineup of festivities for the team's home opener on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 6 p.m. against the Anaheim Ducks.
Fans are encouraged to arrive early for a pre-game fan fest on Barclays Center's Resorts World Casino NYC Plaza and for an exciting in-game opening presentation.

The festivities begin at 3:30 p.m. on the plaza, with music from band The Zoo and DJ Razor, as well as interactive games, appearances by Islanders legends and Sparky the Dragon.
At 4:30 p.m., the doors at Barclays Center's GEICO Atrium will open for happy hour with select concessions and drinks available. Doors open arena-wide at 5 p.m.
Guests will notice an Islanders brand takeover at Barclays Center, starting with the newly renamed team store, the Swag Shop at Barclays Center, which will feature the Islanders year-round.
On Barclays Center's concourse, a Hockey Hall of Fame exhibit will display Islanders memorabilia dating from the famed Stanley Cup dynasty to today, legends will sign autographs, and kids can enjoy bubble hockey games.
Fans are encouraged to be in their seats by 5:45 p.m. for a special opening night ceremony, including a new open video and special celebrity appearance. American Idol finalist, two-time Tony Award Nominee, and Brooklyn native Constantine Maroulis will take the ice to sing the national anthem.
All fans at Barclays Center will receive a magnetic Islanders schedule and will have a fan-designed t-shirt on their seats.

For fans coming from Long Island, LIRR will be operating four extra direct trains to Barclays Center as well as four extra trains home, as it will for all weekend games.
