Islanders Hosting Hockey Fights Cancer Game at UBS Arena

On Saturday night, the UBS Arena lights will be turned lavender, as the New York Islanders hold the team's annual Hockey Fights Cancer night, supported by Northwell Health, when they host the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Islanders will wear lavender jerseys in warmups,
which can be bid on until Nov. 27 at 10 p.m. et
. Fans will have their opportunity to stand up to cancer, filling out "Stand Up 2 Cancer"
placards
and holding them up during a TV timeout. Saturday's game will also feature a ceremonial puck drop by patients from Cohen Children's Medical Center, a Rally Against Cancer "rally towel" giveaway to all fans presented by Northwell, mystery pucks available for purchase and other activations and fundraisers.

Fans will have the opportunity to make a donation of $50 to purchase a one-of-a-kind, special edition HFC puck that is autographed by an Islanders player. Proceeds will benefit the Islanders Hockey Fights Cancer campaign and the Northwell Health Cancer Institute. Limited quantity available. Pucks for sale at the Community Relations table located at section 109 on the concourse.

The Islanders are also partnering with Stand Up To Cancer for Saturday's contest.
The Stand Up to Cancer mission is an important one.

CEREMONIAL PUCK DROP

Three children, 12-year-old Owen Shouldice, six-year-old Henry Schafer and six-and-a-half-year-old Mason Maier, each in their battle against cancer, will drop the ceremonial first puck ahead of Saturday's game. Shouldiceare, Schafer and Maier are patients from Cohen Children's Medical Center.

Lexy Mealing from Westbury, NY is a Breast Cancer survivor at 51 years old. Lexy credits her mammogram for saving her life as her cancer was caught early. She now dedicates her free time to educate the community about the importance of cancer screening and how it saves lives.
