Parker Wotherspoon Ties Tri-City Points Record

Parker Wotherspoon added two assists in the Tri City Americans most recent game against Medicine Hat, which moved him into a tie with Tyler Schmidt (2008-2011) for most career points by a Tri-City defenseman with 165. Wotherspoon also set a franchise record against Seattle at the end of January for career assists by a defenseman with now over 133.
Wotherspoon now ranks first in the Western Hockey League among defensemen for assists. The 2015 fourth-round pick has eight goals and 41 assists this season for the Americans, who are third in the U.S. Division standings. With 65 points, Tri-City is seven points behind division leading Everett (31-11-8-2, 72 points) and also trails Seattle (31-15-3-2, 67 points).

Minnesota Gets Big Wins Over Big Ten Opponent; BU Beats BC in Beanpot

The Minnesota Gophers toppled No. 6 Penn State twice at home this weekend with a 5-1 win Friday and a 5-2 victory on Saturday. The No. 7 Gophers have now won six straight at home, and have won 10 of their last 12 games, along with 13 of the last 16.
Jake Bischoff recorded three assists in the Gopher win over Penn State on Friday, a career high for points. Bischoff has a total of 19 assists on the season, with 21 total points. The Gopher senior and the rest of Minnesota face off against Ohio State in a two game series this weekend.
Kieffer Bellows, Doyle Somerby and the Boston University Terriers beat Boston College 3-1 on Monday night in the first round of the 2017 Beanpot. Neither Islanders prospect recorded a point, but BU busted a six-game Beanpot losing streak to BC in the process.

Collin Adams Continues Raking in the Points

Collin Adams leads the Muskegon Lumberjacks with 40 points, tied for first in goals with 19, and is second on the team in assists with 21. Adams had one assist in the Lumberjacks' 4-2 victory against the Green Bay Gamblers on Saturday and has nine points in the last nine games. The Islanders' 2016 sixth-round pick is fourth in the USHL standings for points and third on the goal's list.
Adams and the Lumberjacks went 1-1 on the weekend against the Gamblers. They return home next weekend for a pair of games against Des Moines.
