The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) resumed after taking a COVID-19-related pause.
Despite the pause, William Dufour, the Islanders' 2020 fifth rounder (152nd overall), wasted no time and kept the momentum going for the Saint John Sea Dogs. In two games since the season resumed, Dufour further extended his goal streak to five games with six goals in that span, while his point streak reached 18 games.
In Saint John's first game back on Feb. 4, Dufour scored the game winner - his fifth GWG of the season - in a 4-0 blanking over Blainville-Boisbriand. On Feb. 6, he recorded a two-goal performance and second star of the game honors in a 6-2 defeat over Rimouski.
Through 30 games this season, Dufour has totaled 50 points (25G, 25A). His 25 goals rank second-most in QMJHL while his 50 points are ranked fourth in league standings. Dufour and Saint John rank fifth in the Eastern Conference with a 17-12-3 record.
