Here are this week's updates on Islanders prospects:

Both prospects signed on Tuesday, but have not yet debuted with Bridgeport.
Pivonka, who the Islanders selected in the fourth round of the 2018 NHL Draft (103rd overall), put up 18 points (10G, 8A) through 37 games with Omaha this season. The 23-year-old forward set career highs in goals, assists and points in his first season with Omaha after spending four seasons with Notre Dame.
Krygier, who the Islanders picked in the seventh round of the 2018 draft (196th overall), collected four points (1G, 3A) through 28 games played for Michigan St. this season. The 22-year-old defenseman finished his fifth and final season of NCAA hockey and served as an alternate captain.
Both prospects have paternal NHL connections, as Krygier is the son of former forward Todd Krygier, while Pivonka is the son of former forward Michal Pivonka.


MAGGIO ENDS REGULAR SEASON ON HIGH NOTE

Matt Maggio rounded out his breakout season with major recognition at the OHL awards ahead of the 2023 playoffs.

Maggio took home the Eddie Powers Trophy as the OHL's top scorer with a league-leading 111 points. In the process, the Islanders 2022 fifth rounder (142nd overall) took home the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy as the league's top scoring right winger. Maggio also led the OHL with 54 goals.
Maggio is the first Windsor Spitfire to win the Jim Mahon Memorial Trophy.
The Western Conference-leading Spitfires finished their regular season with a 6-3 loss to the London Knights on Saturday, but finished the season with a record of 44-18-4-2.
Maggio buried a goal in the final frame to extend his point streak to 14 games (12G, 11A) with 23 points over that span. The 20-year-old winger has towered over the standings for the most part this season, leading the OHL with 54 goals. Notably, only four of those goals came on the power play.
Maggio made his first postseason appearance last season, collecting 25 points (7G, 10A) through 17 playoff games.
The Spitfires will face the Kitchener Rangers in the Western Conference Quarterfinals, with Game 1 slated for Thursday at 7:05 p.m. Windsor wrapped the regular season at the top of their division with 94 points will have home ice advantage in the first round.
Windsor went 4-0-0 against Kitchener during the regular season.


CHL PLAYOFFS

The Ontario Hockey League and Western Hockey League playoffs kick off this week and Isaiah George, Tristan Lennox and Daylan Kuefler have qualified with their respective teams, in addition to Maggio.
In the OHL George and the London Knights will take on the Owen Sound Attack,
starting on Friday night

Lennox and the Saginaw Spirit will take on the Flint Firebirds,
starting on Thursday
.
In the WHL, Kuefler and the Kamloops Blazers take on the Vancouver Giants
on Friday
.


MERRIMACK GETS BLANKED IN NCAA SEMIFINALS

Alex Jefferies and Merrimack were eliminated from the NCAA tournament on Saturday in a 5-0 loss to Quinnipiac.

Merrimack was outshot 35-15 in the shutout loss in the NCAA Ice Hockey Regional Semifinals, in the team's second ever appearance in the tournament.
While Jefferies did not hit the scoresheet in his first NCAA tournament, the 19-year-old forward drew a penalty in the final frame.
Jefferies, who the Islanders drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 NHL Draft (121st overall), finished his junior season with 41 points (14G, 27A) through 38 games played. The young forward set career-highs in goals, assists and points this season.
