For many of the Islanders North American and international prospects, the 2021-22 campaign is officially underway.
Here are this week's updates on the Islanders prospects:

DUFOUR DEBUTS WITH SAINT JOHN

During the offseason, Islanders prospect William Dufour (2020 fifth rounder, 152nd overall) was acquired by the Saint John Sea Dogs following a trade with the Drummondville Voltigeurs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL).
Since the trade, Dufour has dressed in two games with his new club. The right winger recorded an assist in Saint John's season opener on Oct. 1 which resulted in a 4-2 loss to Charlottetown.
Dufour and the Sea Dogs are one of three teams in the "Q" to start the season 0-2-0.

BERG AND UNO SPLIT IN SEASON OPENING WEEKEND

Cameron Berg, the Islanders' 2021 fourth rounder (125th overall), began his Division l collegiate career with the University of Nebraska-Omaha (UNO), as the Mavericks split a weekend series against Lake Superior State over the weekend.
Berg, who is a 19-year-old left-shot centerman, didn't record any points in the series split, but posted two shots on goal.
Subsequently, Berg and UNO placed nationally in both national college hockey polls; with a 17th overall ranking in the USCHO.com poll and 15th overall in the USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

ISKHAKOV HEADS TO GERMANY

Following a stint with TPS of Liiga, Finland's top tier of professional ice hockey, Ruslan Iskhakov (2018 second rounder, 43rd overall) is continuing to pursue his professional career with Adler Mannheim of Deutsche Eishockey Liga, the highest-level ice hockey league in Germany.
The 21-year-old center has played in one game so far with Adler Mannheim and was without a point. Iskhakov reportedly suffered a foot injury, which does not require surgery, and is undergoing a rehab process that has kept him out of the lineup.
Adler Mannheim currently ranks third overall in the DEL with a 5-2-1 record.

MACHU AND HC VITKOVICE

Tomas Machu, who the Islanders selected 221st overall (seventh round) of the 2021 NHL Draft, has played six games with HC Vitkovice of Czech Extraliga, which is the highest-level league in the Czech Republic.
The 6-foot-4, 190-pound defenseman hasn't recorded a point in six games with HC Vitkovice but has taken one penalty. Machu and HC Vitkovice are ranked 13th in Czech Extraliga with a 3-3-0 record.

LJUNGKRANTZ GETTING EXPERIENCE

So far this season, Alex Ljungkrantz (2020 third rounder, 90th overall) has made appearances with both Brynas IF's top club of the Swedish Hockey League (SHL) and its j20 squad.
With the top team, Ljungkrantz has gone without a point in three games. With the j20 group, the 19-year-old winger has scored three points (2G, 1A) through five games.

FOUR PROSPECTS IN LIIGA

The Islanders currently have four prospects: Eetu Liukas, Aleksi Malinen, Matias Rajaniemi,
and Aatu Raty who play for teams in Liiga, Finland's top professional league.
Liukas, who the Islanders selected 157th overall (fifth round) at the 2021 NHL Draft, plays for TPS. The 19-year-old left winger has yet to produce a point through seven games with TPS, but has totaled five points (3G, 2A) through three games with TPS U20.
Liukas and TPS are ranked first overall in Liiga with a 7-0-3 record through 10 games.
Malinen (2021 sixth rounder, 189th overall) currently plays for JYP. The 18-year-old blueliner hasn't scored a point in three games with the team, but has registered five points (1G, 4A) through four games with JYP U20.
Malinen and TPS are ranked 13th overall in Liiga with 2-2-4 record
Rajaniemi (2020 sixth rounder, 183rd overall) plays with Pelicans in Liiga. The 6-foot-4, 205-pound defenseman has picked up one assist through nine games with the Pelicans and taken one penalty. Rajaniemi and the Pelicans are ranked third overall in Liiga with a 5-2-2 record.
Aatu Raty, who the Islanders drafted in the second round (52nd overall) at this year's NHL Draft, plays with Karpat. However, Raty joined the Islanders for training camp and has yet to debut with Karpat this season since returning to Finland.
