The New York Islanders announced today that Cal Clutterbuck has agreed to terms on a two-year deal.
Clutterbuck, 34, has totaled 262 points (130 goals and 132 assists) in 933 career games played with the Minnesota Wild and Islanders. He has also played 70 career NHL playoff games with the Wild and Islanders, scoring 11 goals and eight assists for 19 points. The Welland, ON native ranks second in NHL history in hits - since the stat was tracked starting in 2005-06 - with 3,562.

The Islanders acquired Clutterbuck and a third-round selection at the 2013 NHL Draft from Minnesota in exchange for Nino Niederreiter.

Prior to his professional career, Clutterbuck played three seasons of junior hockey with the Oshawa Generals and one with the Toronto St. Michael's Majors of the Ontario Hockey League. In his final season with Oshawa, he scored 89 points (35 goals and 54 assists) in 65 games. The Wild selected Clutterbuck in the third round, 72nd overall, of the 2006 NHL Draft.
On the international stage, Clutterbuck won a silver medal with Team Canada at the 2011 World Championships and a silver medal with Canada at the 2005 Under-18 World Junior Championships. He also won a gold medal with Team Canada-Ontario at the 2004 World Under-17 Hockey Challenge.
