The New York Islanders have signed forward Pierre Engvall to a seven-year contract.

Engvall, 27, scored 30 points (17 goals, 13 assists) in 76 games last season, including nine points (five goals, four assists) in 18 games with the Islanders after being acquired from the Toronto Maple Leafs. He added two points (one goal, one assist) and a +4 rating in six Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Islanders.

Toronto selected Engvall in the seventh round (188th overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft. The Ljungby, Sweden native has 92 points (47 goals, 45 assists) in 244 career regular season games and six points (one goal, five assists) in 23 career Stanley Cup Playoff games. Engvall scored a career-high 15 goals and 35 points in 2021-22 with Toronto.

Engvall previously spent three seasons with the Toronto Marlies (American Hockey League), posting 56 points (30 goals, 26 assists) in 94 career games along with 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) through 34 playoff games. Engvall won the 2018 Calder Cup with the Marlies, recording eight points (three goals, five assists) through 20 games.
