The New York Islanders agreed to terms on a one-year contract with forward Zach Parise.
Parise has 834 career points (401 goals and 433 assists) in 1,120 games, with the Islanders, Minnesota Wild and New Jersey Devils. This season, Parise is one of three Islanders to have scored a shorthanded goal and has recorded two game-winning goals. The 6'0, 195-pound wing has scored over 20 goals in 10 of the 16 seasons he's played in the NHL and ranks third all-time for Minnesota in goals (199) and points (400).

Parise has competed in 105 career Stanley Cup Playoff games with the Wild and Devils, scoring 37 goals and 43 assists for 80 points, which ranks first all-time in Wild history. Parise served as the team captain of the Devils during the 2011-12 campaign, leading the Devils to the Stanley Cup Final that same season. He has been an alternate captain with the Wild since the 2012-13 season. Parise was originally selected by New Jersey 17th overall in the 2003 NHL Draft.

The Minneapolis, MN native spent one season in the American Hockey League with the Albany River Rats where he scored 58 points (18 goals and 40 assists) in 73 games.
Prior to his career with New Jersey, Parise played two years of college hockey at the University of North Dakota. He was named to the 2003 WCHA All-Rookie Team and the WCHA First All-Star Team and the NCAA West First All-American Team in 2004. Parise averaged well over a point-per-game with 116 points (49 goals and 67 assists) in 76 games with North Dakota.
Internationally, Parise has represented the United States of America in two Olympics (2010 and 2014), three World Championships (2005, 2007, 2008) and the World Cup of Hockey in 2016.
