How long have you been teaching?
This is my tenth year of teaching Why did you decide to become a teacher and what is your favorite part of teaching?
I became a teacher because I wanted to change the narrative. My most memorable moment of teaching was my first day! ISLANDERS TEACHER OF THE MONTH EVERFI IS TEAMING UP WITH THE ISLES EverFi Future Goals Program Sign Your School Up Dec. 2020: Brad Turnow Community Stars of the Week What is your favorite part of Future Goals & how are you using it in your classroom?
It's interactive. The students were able to accomplish the tasks independently. The program connects math and science well; the activities connected to the current units and they were used as an alternate form of assessment of the standards. The best I have seen in awhile. What was your student's reaction to your course?
The students always enjoy the activities and participation is high. If you played hockey, would you rather be the goalie or a goal scorer? Why?
I would be a goalie because they can really control the game! How else are you involved in your local community?
I provide support to the youth in my local community. The New York Islanders and EverFi are teaming up to highlight local teachers. Learn more about the EverFi Future Goals program. Sign your school up today!
