Even with the holidays looking different this year, the New York Islanders ensured that kids in local hospitals would still have gifts to unwrap.
The team made a generous donation of more than 500 toys, which were picked out and packed by members of the Islanders Community Relations Department on Monday morning.
While the team won't be able to deliver them in person, an Islander holiday tradition, due to COVID-19 restrictions and precautions, the team wanted to continue the initiative of spreading holiday cheer to kids and families that need it most.

Some of the toys that will wind up in hospitals include: mini air hockey tables, Baby Yoda dolls, Bluetooth speakers and headphones, Lego sets, Razor scooters and arts and crafts supplies. Isles hats, bracelets and sunglasses will also be donated.
UPDATE: The toys were delivered to hospitals on Thursday.
