New Otto morning skate

The Islanders recalled center Otto Koivula from Bridgeport on Monday, while Casey Cizikas missed practice with a non-COVID illness. Defenseman Samuel Bolduc was also returned to the Bridgeport Islanders.
Otto Koivula recorded two assists through 20 games with the Islanders over two seasons. The most recent appearance for the 24-year-old center was Apr. 24 2022 in a 5-2 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes. Koivula has 21 points (10G, 11A) in 42 games with Bridgeport this season. The Nokia, Finland native has 145 points (54G, 91A) in 223 career games with Bridgeport.
"I thought he moved well," Head Coach Lane Lambert said of Koivula after Monday's practice. "We haven't seen him for a little bit. I know he's playing well down there. He's a big body."

Cizikas missed practice with a non-COVID illness. The forward has 13 points (4G, 9A) through 55 games this season.
Lambert is unsure if Cizikas will be in the lineup on Tuesday night to face the Senators. "He's sick, so we'll see." Lambert said.
Bolduc played his first five NHL games with the Islanders this season, registering five shots on goal, nine hits and four blocked shots over that span. The 22-year-old defenseman scored his first NHL goal and point. on Feb. 7 in the Islanders 4-0 win over the Seattle Kraken. Bolduc was scratched from the lineup in Saturday's 4-3 OT loss to the Montreal Canadiens.
Prior to his NHL debut and five-game stint with the Islanders, Bolduc played 41 games with the Bridgeport Islanders, collecting 26 points (8G, 18A) in his third season with the Islanders' AHL affiliate.
