Clutterbuck-Game4

Cal Clutterbuck should be "good to go" for Thursday's Game 5, Head Coach Barry Trotz told the media on Wednesday.

The Islanders did not practice, but the forward, who left Game 4 after a low hit from Radko Gudas in the second period, told his coach he felt pretty good on the team's off day, a positive sign heading into Game 5.

"Pretty well everyone is available," Trotz said. "With Cal, I talked to him, he seems pretty good to go. I don't see any issue right now. We should be good to go."

The start time for Game 5 has yet to be announced.

TROTZ ON THE PASSING OF DALE HAWERCHUK:

The hockey world lost a legend on Tuesday, as Video: Barry Trotz Availability: 8/19 lost his battle with stomach cancer. He was 57.

Hawerchuk scored 518 goals and recorded a total of 1,409 points during his 16-year NHL career. His made his biggest mark with the Winnipeg Jets, with 929 points (379G, 550A) in 713 games. While Hawerchuk was piling up points at Polo Park, a young Barry Trotz was plying his trade at the University of Manitoba, and with the Dauphin Kings. Trotz spoke to what Hawerchuk meant to Winnipeg and the province of Manitoba on Wednesday.

"I know how reverred Dale is in the Winnipeg community and especially the Winnipeg Jets," Trotz said. "When I was in Manitoba, and coaching at the University of Manitoba and in the junior leagues there, Dale Hawerchuk was an absolute superstar. Unfortunately, the Winnipeg Jets were in the division with the two best hockey teams in the NHL in the Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames for a lot of years. Dale was - everything you hear about him, a quiet superstar. He was involved in the community, he was what you call a low-maintenance superstar, never wanted a lot of attention and he was a way better player than maybe he gets credit for and he's a Hall of Fame player as we know. He was really a centerpiece for that team for a long time."
