Isles Day to Day: Koivula Out With Lower-Body Injury

Otto Koivula is day-to-day with a lower-body injury Head Coach Lane Lambert said after the team's optional practice on Saturday morning. He is expected to not be in the lineup when the Islanders face the Washington Capitals on Saturday night.
Koivula has recorded two points (2A) through eight games with the Islanders this season, tallying an assist against Buffalo on Mar. 7 and a helper against Minnesota on Feb. 28.

The 24-year-old winger collected 25 points (12G, 13A) through 45 games in his fifth season in Bridgeport.
The Islanders 2016 fourth-round draft pick (120th overall) played 28 career NHL games spanning three seasons with the Islanders.
